Data Science and Decision Making
Casper is an industrial researcher with expertise in Earth Observation, Data Science and Land Management Systems. He has been the lead analyst on several projects on using satellite data and deep learning to support the Sustainable Development Goals. His principal area of research is using data, especially emerging data sources, to improve decision making via Decision Support Systems. He is currently creating systems to aid Financial Service Providers in developing countries segment their customer base and plan for financial inclusion in Tanzania, Zambia, and Ghana through the Savings at the Frontier project. Using his background in surveying, planning and land management, he has also worked in improving tenure security and supported the establishment of land administration systems in Uganda. He has created several decision support systems that are currently in use in multiple countries and has significant experience in helping clients turn data into practical decision-making tools.
